Royal couple touch down in Fingal and meet a Delorento

When Prince Harry and his new bride, Meghan Markle touched down at Dublin Airport, they first set foot on Fingal soil and as protocol now dictates, they were greeted by the Fingal Mayor on the red carpet.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Anthony Lavin had the honour of welcoming the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Fingal, just a few weeks into the Mayor’s tenure in the office.

But that wasn’t to be the last brush with the people of Fingal, the Royal newly-weds had on their brief visit to Ireland, last week.

They met with a number of local political representatives at Dublin Airport and later on in their visit, the couple had an interesting meeting with Kieran McGuinness from Skerries, best know as the singer and guitarist in Fingal band, Delorentos.

Kieran met with the Duke and Duchess at The Liber8 Music Project in the Digital Hub, a new afterschool programme for 13-to-17-year olds living in Dublin 8 and its surroundings where Kieran is a teacher.

This free-to-attend programme is a wonderful opportunity for young people, who may have limited exposure to music and digital media, to immerse themselves in a creative programme.

Harry and Meghan was shown around the project by Kieran and enjoyed a performance by the Liber8 kids which the Royal couple seemed to thoroughly enjoy.
